About us

The Agricultural Economics Department confronts the problems of resources, environment and food which are essential for the very existence of mankind. For the research and education of approaching these problems, our department studies with social sciences mainly economics, and also historical science, ethics, as well as geographic information science. From the global viewpoint, not only Japan but also Asian and African agriculture subject to our research and education. The mission of our department is to develop the sustainable production system of agriculture and social system, in other words, to scientifically contrive pertinent policies, institutions, and local community system which enable to maintain and reproduce the sustainable biosphere.

 

 

Laboratories

The Department of Agricultural Economics has four laboratories: Environmental Economics, Regional Resource Planning, International Development Studies, and Farm Business Management.
