Associate Professor Goh Nishitani group discovered for the first time in Japan a new parasitic dinoflagellate (Amoebophrya sp.) that is highly parasitic on the toxic plankton (genus Alexandrium) that causes paralytic shellfish poisoning and succeeded in isolating and culturing it from Osaka Bay.
