Biostructural Chemistry

Introduction

Total synthesis of biologically active natural products plays an important role for understanding biological processes at molecular level. The major efforts of our group are directed toward the practical total synthesis of natural products with novel molecular architecture and important biological activity. In order to carry out these syntheses, new synthetic methodologies and strategies have been extensively investigated. Our efforts also are devoted to clarify structure-activity relationships and molecular mechanism of biological activities of these natural substances.
These studies will lead to design and synthesis of new functional molecules that modulate the function of biological targets.
