Research Projects

DNA released from organisms into the environment is called environmental DNA (eDNA). In the sea, the application of eDNA to ecology and fisheries science has just begun. Currently, we are trying to estimate the biomass by investigating the distribution of eDNA of marine fishes in coastal areas and estuaries. In addition, by monitoring the seasonal changes, we are studying the migration ecology of the target fishes.
