Research Projects
  1. Improvement of broiler productivity under heat stress condition.

Heat stress is a global issue in the poultry industry, especially in broiler production. In order to improve the low heat tolerance of broiler chicken, we try to understand the mechanisms of heat stress response provided by the tissues or cellular biological and metabolic changes.  Also, we attempt to explore feed resources that can alleviate heat stress of broiler.

  2. Prevention and control of feather pecking in laying hen

Feather pecking (FP) is one of the abnormal behaviors that cause other birds to poor plumage, injure a bird’s skin, and sometimes it leads to cannibalism. However, is not fully understood what factors or metabolic changes are induced FP.  Therefore, we focus on the molecular and metabolic changes in the brain of the juvenile phase of chicken to prevent FP induction as early as possible. Our study might be lead to a new FP control method with a nutritional approach.
