Center for Agricultural and Life Sciences using Synchrotron Light (A-Sync) was established in September 2021 with the aim of further developing and expanding the activities of the Working Group on Next-Generation Synchrotron Radiation Utilization of the Graduate School of Agriculture, Tohoku University, which began its activities in April 2018. Currently, 30 faculty members participate in A-Sync, and the main purpose of activities is to promote research/education and industry-government-academia collaboration in the Graduate School of Agriculture by utilizing synchrotron radiation technology to tackle various issues in the fields of agriculture and life sciences centered on food, health, and environment. In addition, one of the objectives is to develop human resources who can play an interdisciplinary and international role in these fields.
