Animals including human beings have spent their healthy lives using circulating bioresources smartly through interactions with microbes. However, pandemic outbreak of infectious diseases, collapse of food safety, environmental pollution, and energy depletion have happened, once the circulating bioresource system has been interrupted. Our mission is to solve disorder of animal condition or environmental hygiene caused by the microbes from the veterinary and microbiological viewpoints.

Kawatabi field center has a dormitory for the students and the researchers. Around the center, a few rental rooms and hot springs exist. You can have lunch and dinner at the cafeteria in the center. It is better to have a car for the life, however someone lives without any car. The collaborators can stay in rooms of the center for short days. If you want to join our laboratory, please contact me as mentioned below.

For a candidate for graduate student

  • In principle, an applicant for the Graduate School of Agricultural Science needs to become a research student for more than six months in Tohoku university.
  1. Research Student
  2. Application requirement: English score; IELTS 5.5,TOEFL iBT 69,TOEFL PBT(ITP) 520 or Japanese score; N2.

  3. Master's Degree program
  4. Doctoral Program
  • The system of teaching assistant or research assistant is enough for you to live and study in Tohoku university.
  • You can live in the dormitory in the university.
