Food and Health Evaluation

The purpose of this unit to detect, identify, and quantify harmful substances as well as pesticides, antibiotics, and functional molecules in crops, livestock, and marine products. This unit is involved in education and research on technology that can evaluate and regulate these risks and other biological functions.


Synchrotron Light for Agri-Bioscience

The purpose of this unit is to detect and evaluate ingredients and quality of products from farms and marine sources and of food by utilizing the next-generation synchrotron facility in the New Aobayama Campus. Together with the analytical technics for gene, genome, and epigenetics, and with engineering for genetics and individual development, we develop technologies for safe and high-quality agricultural products and food.


Ecological and Environment Evaluation

The purpose of this unit is to perform detailed evaluations of biological and chemical factors in the environment inhabited by the plants and animals under study, including climate changes, soil, water, and parasitic/symbiotic microorganisms. It is also involved in research on methods to minimize environmental risk and next-generation industrial infrastructure that can be applied to research on environmental protection.
